廟址位於左營下路，俗稱「左營大廟」是左營七甲的首廟，創建於明永曆年間，主祀玄天上帝(或稱北極大帝)相傳因其法力高強，能驅妖治病，而為道教所崇信。民國62年重建，民國65年(1976)完工，香火鼎盛，為左營居民守護神。廟內存有清領時期古匾及咸豐癸丑對聯一幅。廟前蓮池潭中還建有北極亭及雄偉的玄天上帝神像，矗立水中成為蓮池潭最醒目的地標。
