Old sluice
Emsland - Grafschaft Bentheim

To allow the ships at the end of the former Ems Hase-channel to

descent into the Hase, this so-called coupling lock was built here
from 1826 to 1830. Because of its two stages it is a technical
masterpiece and can still be seen today in its original condition.
