I reached the summit of Mount Whitney 3/7/2015 on a perfectly clear day via the Mountaineers Route. I overcame a shivering spell on the shaded and windy notch and a justified amount of fear climbing the steep snow section up to the wide slopes below the summit to stand and enjoy a perfect summit day. We were the first group on top and got to enjoy the sweeping views and warmth from the sun for nearly an hour before dropping back to the notch and a fun glissade down the couloir.
