The current Church dates from the 16th century, has 3 naves (separated by half-open arches and based on Tuscan capitals) and a Gothic vault in the main chapel. Apparently this church had, by predecessor, a smaller church, most likely Romanesque. Built in masonry with the cornerstones in granite ashlars, plastered with white lime, of longitudinal plan, composed of three naves, chancel, sacristy and the steeple in stonework attached to the North side on the Front Facade. Inside, retables of different artistic styles are kept, especially the altarpiece of the chancel and the cross vault with the arms of the Order of Christ and the Távora family. The altarpiece of the main altar is gilded in Pombaline style. The altarpieces of Nossa Senhora do Rosário and Santo António are of the national Baroque style and date from the 18th century. At the bottom of the church is a 17th-century tiled surface. In this 17th century, a quadrangular bell tower was added.
