大武崙砲台位於大武崙中、情人湖東方，是中法戰爭所遺留下來的古蹟，規模不小，且保存尚稱完整，被國家列為二級的古蹟。大武崙是扼守基隆港囗西側的重要據點，在道光中英鴉片戰爭及光緒的中法戰爭時，清廷均曾派其駐防。

南稜堡，所謂「稜堡區」是整個營區最突出的地方，它和北稜堡形成交叉火網，防止敵人登陸所用。整個步道靠海（崖）一邊為矮牆，為防止敵軍攻上來的防衛工事。
