大武崙砲台位於大武崙中、情人湖東方，是中法戰爭所遺留下來的古蹟，規模不小，且保存尚稱完整，被國家列為二級的古蹟。大武崙是扼守基隆港囗西側的重要據點，在道光中英鴉片戰爭及光緒的中法戰爭時，清廷均曾派其駐防。

礮盤區共四門砲，乃是120˚旋轉砲盤，子牆的中上方有三個四方形小孔稱為”基準點”，幫助瞄準既定目標。下方則有貯彈孔，此乃戰時彈藥暫時貯存的地方，此砲原為榴彈砲，即砲彈打出之後成拋物線式的到達目標。
