Aerial view next to the Quinta do Porto viewpoint.

The parish of Covas do Douro is made up of the villages of Pesinho, Chanceleiros and Donelo. It belonged in 1839 to the Municipality of Vila Real, but in 1852 it was integrated in the Municipality of Provesende (extinguished in 1853) and later passed to Sabrosa. It has excellent wine and is an orange and tangerine producer.
