Ruins at Kilwa Kisiwani and Kilwa Songo Mnara, Tanzania

The ruins at Kilwa Kisiwani and Kilwa Songo Mnara are on two islands off the coast of East Africa, in Tanzania. A town has existed here since the 7th and 8th century and became an important seaport on the trade route along the coast of East Africa.
