The Local Natural Monument of Pedras Ruivas presents several main geomorphological interests such as the residual and the tectonic, and others, such as the periglacial, the paleontological, the geocultural, the mineralogical and the ecological. This is a key area that preserves essential elements for the interpretation of the Rheic's hydrodynamics, namely the sedimentary processes operated in its sandy-muddy bottom (ripple marks and fossilized rolling) and the installed paleobiodiversity (sand ichnofossils - Scolithus sp. And de trilobites - Cruziana sp.).
