This view shows a fault at the Crater Glass Flow trail on the north flank of the Medicine Lake Volcano, California.  From a nearby sign:

Open fractures up to 15 feet wide and 30 feet deep connect the glass flows and extend southwest to Little Mount Hoffman and Little Glass Mountain.  Their formation accompanied the eruption of the glass flows.  These fractures are the surface expression of a fault that is most visible at the top of the ridge between the two larger glass flows.  This fault trends north to northeast and exhibits west side down motion.  It occurred after the pumice marking the explosive beginning of the Little Glass Mountain eruption.  The fault is seen in the hillside as red cinder deposits capped with white pumice on one side and only white pumice on the other side. 

The background forest burned from the Antelope Fire.  The fire began from a lightning strike on August 1, 2021 south of Tennant, California & lasted to October 15, 2021, burning a total of 145,632 acres.
