We took the Gornergrat rack railway from Zermatt up to the Gornergrat (3'089 meters) and hiked down to the Riffelalp (2'222 meters).

Here we are some minutes below the Gornergrat railway station Riffelberg at 2'502 meters. It is a wonderful view to the Matterhorn from here and you can also look downhill to the Zermatt valley and the Riffelalp.
