Designed by Andy Scott and completed in October 2013, the Kelpies stand alongside the Forth and Clyde Canal in Falkirk, Scotland. While their title refers to the mythological shape-shifting beasts of Scottish folklore, Scott's work is rather a socio-historic celebration of the horse's role in industry and agriculture.
