I think this alcove formed by the monastery wing, chapel, and well, at Espada Mission is the most picturesque spot in all the five San Antonio River missions. The garden is obviously cared for, the church is rough and ancient looking but in excellent condition. This is the furthest of the chain of missions from the city and gets the fewest visitors, so it is also very quiet.
