Old Steel Plant Belval Esch sur Al Zette Luxembourg

Die Industriebrache Belval ist ein ehemaliger Standort der Arbed, einem 1911 gegründeten luxemburgischen Stahlkonzern, der 2002 mit dem spanischen Unternehmen Aceralia und dem französischen Unternehmen Usinor zu Arcelor fusionierte, das wiederum 2006 durch die Fusion mit Mittal Steel im Konzern ArcelorMittal aufgegangen ist. Als 1997 mit dem Hochofen B der letzte noch in Luxemburg betriebene Hochofen stillgelegt wurde, entstand im Westen eine 120 Hektar große Fläche für neue Nutzungen. Der verbliebene Teil ist weiterhin ein Produktionsstandort der Gesellschaft ArcelorMittal.

The brownfield zone at Belval is a former industrial site belonging to Arbed, a Luxembourg steel group founded in 1911 and merged with Aceralia (E) and Usinor (F) in 2002 to form the Arcelor group. In 2006, ArcelorMittal merged again with the Mittal Steel. In 1997, when the Blast Furnace B ceased production, the last remaining blast furnace still in operation in Luxembourg, an area of 120 hectares was cleared to the west in order to accommodate new facilities, while the other part of the site has remained an ArcelorMittal production plant.

Its headquarters is in Brussels, Belgium.Do not confuse the EU with the Council of Europe, which has 47 member states and dates to 1949. These two bodies share the same flag, national anthem, and mission of integrating Europe. The headquarters of the Council are located in Strasbourg, France, and it is most famous for its European Court of Human Rights. In spite of these two bodies, there is still no single Constitution or set of laws applying to all the countries of Europe. Debate rages over the role of the EU in regards to national sovereignty.
