Transit Hill is roughly the centre of Lord Howe Island and is reached by walking either from Blinky Beach via a narrow track that climbs up to the lookout tower, or via the paddock behind Pinetrees Lodge. A round trip, without stopping, can be done in about an hour by most able bodied people and is well worth the effort. A good view is to be seen from the viewing platform.
