Hochwasser 13 Bruecke Drausendorf
Poland

On 8 August 2010 broke the night a huge flood in Zittau. By continuing large very heavy rain reached the creeks and rivers, which came from the direction of the Czech Republic and Poland, huge level heights and flooded Zittau and surrounding country. All sites were located in Flußhöhe flooded. The water rose so high that it sometimes overflowed the dikes and the former flood meadows, which are now mostly built, sat under water. The photos were taken three days after the water had been raging for close inspection and show the considerable damage. The water level is still above the normal water level and goes back slowly.
