Sao Joao de Tarouca, Monastery, Church, Tomb
Portugal

1354 - death of D. Pedro Afonso, Count of Barcelos and bastard son of D. Dinis Português, buried in the monastery. The tomb of Count D. Pedro is composed of the sarcophagus, decorated with scenes of wild boar hunting, and the jacente, with its head resting on cushions and having a dog at its feet. It has the dimensions of 3.28 m. in length by 1.22 m. width . It is framed by four tile panels, with cut out frames and formed laterally by pilasters and Atlantean angels, representing the "Martírio de São João", the "Fuga para Egipto", "Desterro" and Santo Amaro. On the opposite side, a large gilded altarpiece, on a stonework sotobanco, with a straight plan and three axes defined by four torsed columns, decorated by pampas, based on parallelepiped plinths, representing holy martyrs (São Lourenço, São Vicente, São Sebastião, Santo Stephen),
