Nerve center and public heart of Casa da Música, Sala Guilhermina Suggia (main auditorium) has a stage capable of accommodating up to 110 musicians and a choir of 14 elements. With a total area of 1100 m2 and a capacity for 1280 seats, it is equipped with the most demanding acoustic and technical conditions for hosting medium and large productions.

Equipped with all the requirements for filming, recording and transmission, Room 1 is surrounded by large glass areas that allow visual communication with the outside and with other public areas of the building.

In its interior decoration, silver and gold tones predominate, in frank and intentional contrast with the play of lights provided by its glazed spaces.
