Occupying an area of 12 hectares, the Central Park, located at the downtown, used to be an important cradle for gold medalists.  Built in 1976, through donations from members of the Rotary Club, it is also called the "Rotary Park". 

In 2000, the City Government removed the obsolete sports facilities, changing it to the theme of "natural forest", creating a new relationship between urbanites and the nature.  Through the skillful hands of Richards Rogers, the park, the MRT station, and the Urban Spotlight were restructured, thus becoming the a case study of the rebirth of city parks.
