An aerial view of the seaside town and resort of Rhyl in Denbighshire on the North Wales coast. Once a very popular resort during Victorian times it became a favoured destination for tourists from Manchester and Liverpool post 2nd World War which changed the look of the town. In the 90's Rhyl's popularity with tourists declined as foreign travel became cheaper. More recently it has been part of a regeneration project aimed at returning the town to its former glory.
Wales (Cymru in the Welsh language) is part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The major cities are Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and Bangor. The city of St. Davids is the smallest city in the UK with a population around 2000. Wales itself has a population of around 3 million. The Welsh language is spoken by around 20% of the population.
