Photo taken 3/6/2015 en route to camp on the way up Mt. Whitney on the Mountaineer's Route. First climbed by John Muir in 1873, this route is rugged, steep, and a beautiful climb to the highest mountain in the Lower 48. Winter conditions make this route complicated, but the dynamic views of snow covered Sierra granite on the way to this iconic mountain make the challenge well worth it.
