White Rocks Formation, Cedar Mountain Wilderness, Skull Valley, Utah, USA
Utah

The White Rocks formation is a mass of 40 million year old plutonic granite rising from the sedimentary rock at the southern end of Skull Valley in Utah.  The Bureau of Land Management maintains an 8 mile gravel access road and there are several primitive campgrounds around the base of the formation.  White Rocks rests against the eastern edge of the Cedar Mountain Wilderness.  Other nearby sights include Horseshoe Springs (a pair of natural springs creating a riparian environment in the desert) and Iosepa, a ghost town.
