The great Hypostyle Hall, Karnak Temple, Luxor, Egypt.
Luxor & Karnak
Begun during the Middle Kingdom period, around 2000-1700 BC construction continued until the Ptolemaic period (305 - 30 BC.) The temple complex was dedicated to the sun god Amun-Ra and is notable for being one of the longest used religious sites. The great Hypostyle Hall has 134 columns and the construction would have been an enormous task over many years.
