Linhares da Beira, Parish church, aerial view
Portugal

Linhares was already a castellated settlement in the reign of D. Sancho I, tutoring, along with Celorico da Beira and other neighboring forts, the northern section of Serra da Estrela. At the end of the 12th century, the castle's mayors, Gonçalo and Rodrigo Mendes, came to the aid of Celorico's square, which was the target of attack by Leonese troops.

Parish church with Romanesque elements: portal and gated arch on the North side, ducted on the South side. 17th century elements: longitudinal plan of a single nave, coffered ceiling, altarpieces, pulpit, side chapels attached to the nave. Eighteenth-century elements: bell tower, main portal and window in a low arch, high choir, carved altarpieces. Painted boards attributed to Vasco Fernandes, perhaps belonging to two series of altarpieces dedicated to the Childhood of Jesus and the Passion.
