Hillman Peak (8151'/2485m) summit (gigapixel)
Crater Lake, Oregon, USA

Gigapixel view from atop Hillman Peak (elev. 8,151') in Crater Lake National Park, Oregon.  The peak is on the west rim of the massive caldera that erupted from ancient Mt. Mazama 7,700 years ago.  Today one can get a fantastic view of the blue lake w/ Wizard Island.  Other views include The Watchman to the south, Mount Scott across the way, & Llao Rock to the north w/ the Rim Drive circling around the lake.  Distant views include Mt. McLoughly barely visible to the south, Union Peak, the Rogue Umpqua Divide, Mt. Thielsen & Mt. Bailey to the north, Diamond Peak, & even the distant Three Sisters.  There was some haze from the Milepost 97 Fire burning near Canyonville.
