Tychy - The City Hall and the Music School

These buildings were designed by Wacław Jaciow, Emilian Piasecki and Kazimierz Wejchert as the center of the new city of Tychy. They are very interesting examples of modernist architecture.

The building, today occupied by the Music School, was built in 1964 as the House of Social Organization. There was also the seat of the District Committee of the Polish United Workers' Party.

The City Hall was built in 1970. It was a tall, set on the letter Y plan building raised on light arcades. It permitted visual reduction of powerful cubage of this building and created visual link with the surrounding park.

The building standing on light "legs" aroused great interest. Many visitors from different cities of Poland came to Tychy to see it. Unfortunately, in 2008 arcades under the west wing were developed to create the customer service office.

Nearby these buildings, a court was planned to be built. Ultimately, there was built a complex of banks.
