We tried driving to the top of the extinct volcano next to the village of Tequila here in Jalisco, Mexico. But we ran out of time (we had an appointment to keep) and didn't make it. At any rate, I'm not sure there would have been much of a view there, as the volcano is covered in rather thick forest (which was a surprise to us).
