Tahquitz Canyon - Palm Springs

Tahquitz Canyon was once an important resource for the Cahuilla Indians. During the 1960s it was invaded by hippies and the result was far from idylic. It took the Cahuillas a number of years to clean up the mess and currently the once again pristene canyon can be visited again with or without a guide. For more information or to reserve a ranger-led interpretive hike, call the Visitors' Center at: (760) 416-7044.
