Razorback Hut

This hut is located in the Mt Stirling Alpine resort.

The original hut was built in 1953. It has since been extended, such that there are bunks for more than 40 people now, across a number of different buildings. There are now three large huts, two sheds and yards.

The huts were fully refurbished in 2008 and re-opened by VHCHA members with funding from DSE.

Construction:Two of the large huts are weatherboard and the other of iron.

The hut provides a welcome refuge to skiers in winter and to horse riders and walkers in summer.

It is accessible by car during the summer months only, or a short ski from Mt Stirling cross country ski resort in winter.

It is often prebooked by High Country horse riding firms and has nearby horse yards.
