Pennine moorland heather at golden hour, Little Moor, West Yorkshire

For a short window in late summer, the normally muted tones of the bleak south Pennine moors are painted bright as vegetation reaches its peak. Colours pop, with purple from flowering heather sitting next to contrasting green swards of bracken fronds.

Aerial panorama taken above Little Moor, between Byron's Edge and White Holme Moss, close to the county line between West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.
