Dartmoor granite has been used as a construction material for thousands of years. This green oasis, sunk into the surrounding bleak moor has some artefacts which give hints to the history of the area.

It's hard to believe today that during the 1830s and 40s this, the nearby Holwell Quarry and the surrounding moorland was a hive of industry.
