Hard Knott Pass Cumbria
Hard Knott pass is one of the steepest roads in England, reaching a gradient of 33% (1:3) in places. With hair-pin bends and unguarded drops, this single track road is not for the faint hearted. Part way up, there is the Hardknott Roman fort.
