The Dragon bridge (zmajev/zmajski most) crosses the river Ljubljanica. There is a statue of a dragon, the symbol of Ljubljana, at every corner of the bridge. There is a saying that when a virgin crosses the bridge, the dragons wag their tails. The bridge was built in Secession style, with works starting in the 1901. The bridge was initially named after Franz Joseph I.
