Clyne Valley Country Park Lake

Clyne Valley Country Park covers some 700 acres of woodland, with rivers, lakes and ponds. Clyne lake containing roach, perch, tench, brown trout and carp, is on the edge of Cycle track 4 (London to St David's, Pembrokeshire) of the National Cycleway Network and follows the old railway line through the Park running from Blackpill through to Dunvant and beyond. The original London Midland Scottish railway from Swansea Victoria to Shrewsbury passed through the valley. Its trackbed now forms the Park's main footpath and cycleway, the line closed in 1964. The woods are full of birds and other wildlife including squirrels, badgers and foxes. The industrial history of the area includes coal, copper and arsenic mining, a brickworks, also iron and chemical works.
