Civita Di Bagnoregio

The charming ancient village of Civita appears perched on a rock outcrop overhanging the wide valley made by gullies (small basins bounded by ridges and pinnacles created by 'washing action of the rain on clay). The city, founded by the Etruscans 2500 years ago, is now accessible only along a reinforced concrete pedestrian walkway about 300 meters long.
