Sham Castle isn't really a castle. It's a Folly, with only a front. It was built by local entrepeneur, Ralph Allen. He erected it simply to make the view from his town house more interesting - his main residence was Prior Park. It is situated on the wonderful Bath Skyline Walk next to Bath Golf Club.
