Ball Mountain (7780'/2371m) summit

View from the top of Ball Mountain (elev. 7,780') west of Macdoel, California.  The peak has a nice 360 degree view of the Shasta Valley to the west, along w/ the Klamath Mountains, Mt. Shasta to the south, the Butte Valley to the east, & the Siskiyou Mountains, Mt. McLoughlin, along w/ nearby Willow Creek Mountain.  The peak has been the site of a fire lookout since 1922 however this present structure was completed around 1940, though it has been abandoned for nearly two decades.  It has an internal staircase leading up as well as a Jacob's ladder fire escape on the outside.
