مسجد عمر: يعتبر مسجد عمر في دومة الجندل من أقدم مباني المساجد التاريخية في شمال السعودية. وقد أطلق عليه اسم مسجد عمر ربما نسبة إلى الخليفة عمر بن الخطاب حيث انه يعتقد انه بني أثناء زيارته لدومة الجندل بينما كان في طريقه لفلسطين . ومن أجزاء هذا المبنى الذي يشد انتباه الناظر إليه مئذنته الحجرية الشهيرة التي يعتقد أنها قديمة العهد وربما كان تاريخ بنائها يسبق وظيفتها كجزء من المسجد لأن اتجاهها يختلف بشكل طفيف عن اتجاه المبنى الرئيسي. Omar Mosque: Omar Mosque in Dumat al-Jandal is considered as the earlies mosque in the northern region of Saudi Arabia. It was named bably Caliph Omar bin al Khattab. It is believed that the mosque was built during the visit of Caliph Omar to Dumat al-Jandal on his way to Palestine. The important element of the mosque which attract the attention of the visitor is its minaret which seems to be earlier than the mosque as its direction is slightly different from the orientation of the main building. http://www.scta.gov.sa
