Wadi Rum, Al Ramal Red Sand Dune
Jordan
Wadi Rum, also known as Wādī al-Ramm or the Valley of the Moon, is a stunning valley carved into sandstone and granite rock formations in southern Jordan, located near the Saudi Arabian border and approximately 60 km east of Aqaba. Spanning an area of 720 km2, it stands as Jordan's largest wadi, or river valley. Today, this area has become a popular tourist destination, offering a range of activities such as guided tours, hiking excursions, and opportunities for rock climbing enthusiasts. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2011, the Wadi Rum Protected Area holds significant cultural and natural value.
