The historic twin forts of Visapur and Lohagad in Pune District in Maharashtra. Seen in this panorama is the trekking road from Bhaja Caves that bisects the gap between the two forts and ends at Lohadwadi village located at the base of Lohagad fort. In 1818 during the 3rd Anglo-Maratha war the British forces set up canons on the ramparts of Visapur fort and bombarded the Marathas holed up in Lohagad forcing them to flee.
