Three Roof Ruin, Escalante Arm, Lake Powell, Utah, USA
Utah

Located in the Escalante Arm of Lake Powell, the Three Roof Ruin rests half way up the cliff face.  This set of three restored Ancient Pueblo ruins (two are visible in the picture) housed several families, who reached them from the canyon below possibly by rope or steps carved into the rock face.  Restored by the Park Service in the 1960s, Three Roof Ruin is one of the few ancient ruins around Lake Powell that can be accessed only from the lake itself.
