The Napoleonic signal tower at Bray Head, Valentia Island
Ireland

This derelict signal tower is located on Bray Head, a high headland on the western tip of Valentia Island. It is one of 81 such devices built by English forces during the Napoleonic Wars. Its strategic position overlooking the south-western approaches, with views of the Skelligs, saw it put to use again during both 20th-century World Wars.
