The House and Forecourt Garden at Nymans
England

Nymans Gardens and House is a large estate near Handcross in West Sussex. It belonged to three generations of the German Messel family who purchased it in the late 19th century. The Manor House was destroyed by fire in 1947 and soon after was gifted to the National Trust.

It is famed for its fine collection of unusual plants, woodland, and the romantic atmosphere provided by the ruined house, which was only ever partially rebuilt.
