Sommerhausen Castle is located in the center of the market town of the same name. The oldest parts of the castle go back to the 15th century. The current building complex consists of a walled group of structures and includes two main buildings. The larger one lies with the western gable side on the main street, to this an older, two-winged wing connects to the east. Both are connected by a covered half-timbered corridor at the height of the first floor.
