Silverhorn, Canadian Rockies
Montagnes Rocheuses - Alberta

We left the parking lot at 0.30am because the weather was extremely warm. We hiked through the pitch black night and reached the glacier some two hours later. We roped up and our guide and instructor Mike lead us safely over the ice field and over a major crevasse. As the terrain became steeper we took out our ice tools and built anchors to belay each other. As the night progressed and the day arrived we climbed up the alpine ice. I lost count of the pitches we did - must have been more than ten. When my arms were about to give up on me we finally reached less steep ground and a few pitches later the summit with this beautiful view.
