Senator Mine - Closer Look at the Crusher Building
Nevada
The ore was pulverized into a fine dust and then dropped down into the mercury retort. Located in the Round Mountain Mining district, in a small canyon high in the Toquima Range, the Senator Mine, also known as the Red Bird Mine, was a Mercury mine that produced 137 flasks of mercury through 1965. The camp was completely abandoned in 1968.
