Even before 1400 a "hospice" for lepers was outside the city walls of Ochsenfurt. As the city expanded, the infirmary was relocated and rebuilt in 1431 with the approval of the cathedral chapter as a hospital. Early 16th century, the expansion of the Church required the demolition and until 1551 a new building. The last members of staff left the hospital around 1890.
