Miltenberg's oldest district is sandwiched between Greinberg mountain and the river Main below the castle. Anyone strolling through the streets of the district Schwarzviertel will find stately official buildings and half-timbered houses. Nothing can be seen from the river bank, only with the ascent via the path Bismarckweg is all the beauty at your feet. The eye wanders over the rows of houses to the parish church of St. Jakobus and up to Mildenburg castle.
