Mikołów - city laid in the south Poland, in the Silesian province, in the south part of the Górnośląskiego Industrial Circle. He is the seat of administrative district mikołowskiego. He borders on with the capital of the province directly - Katowicami and Red Silesian, Upper Łaziskami, Orzeszem, Tychami, Pellets, Ornontowicami, Paniówkami. In years 1975-1998 the city belonged to the katowickiego province administratively.

According to data from 2005 2, the commune municipal Mikołów had 38 057 occupants of what 28 396 persons live in the central districts of the city, however 9 661 remaining five sołectw (districts) enterings in the composition Mikołowa: the Boric Village, Rocking -chairs, Wet, Paniowy and Śmiłowice.
