Feuchtwangen - Upper gate building
Franconie

The Upper Gate in Feuchtwangen from 1420 is the only city gate still preserved today. The building was originally a gatehouse with attached room. In the 18th century, the tower was shortened in height. The conversion to a Biedermeier gatehouse took place. In the twentieth century an extension was made in the form of passages for pedestrians and a second large passageway for military vehicles.
